How Does the Abortion Pill Work?
The abortion pill (medical abortion) is a two-drug regimen that consists of mifepristone and misoprostol.
Taken in succession, mifepristone first blocks progesterone, causing the lining of the uterus to thin and the pregnancy to end. However, this effect takes time to work.
