Healing for a Broken Generation

“Abortion kills twice. It kills the body of the baby and it kills the conscience of the mother. Abortion is profoundly anti-women. Three quarters of its victims are women: Half the babies and all the mothers.” – St. Teresa of Calcutta

January 22 marked 45 years since the day our country legalized the killing of the unborn. We’ve lost an unfathomable number of lives since then. As we pray and work tirelessly to bring about an end to this heartache, let us not forget those who have suffered immensely through this—the mothers who have been misguided by our culture of death into believing abortion was the path they must take.

How many women have turned to abortion out of fear or confusion? How many believed that an abortion would bring relief from a difficult situation, only to find themselves suffering in ways they did not expect?

Did you know WNLC offers free professional counseling for those who have had abortions, providing healing and restoring hope?

Millions of women and men in the U.S. have had abortions. Many are unhealed and do not know that they have an opportunity to find healing and hope. The psychological ramifications of having an abortion may include depression, grief, anxiety, lowered self-esteem, regret, suicidal thoughts and behavior, sexual dysfunction, avoidance of emotional attachments, flashbacks, or substance abuse.

Our counselors do not attempt to fit each person into a category. Grief from a loss is a human condition and should be treated with respect and compassion. Because each individual experiences loss at different paces and times, our counselors work with clients to develop an individualized plan to work through their presenting needs. Our professional counselors provide a treatment approach that meets each person where he or she is.

Because of your support of WNLC, we are able to be there for those who are suffering amidst this culture of death. Please join us in prayer for their healing and for an end to the loss of the unborn in our country.

“I never thought much about whether or not I was pro-life, and then my girlfriend decided to have an abortion. My world fell apart. I realized that I needed help to deal with the loss of my son. I couldn’t deal with the feelings of anger and powerlessness on my own. I’ve been coming to Woman’s New Life Center every week, and my counselor has been a gift from God. I wish I could help other men who are going through what I am experiencing…”

“Our marriage was falling apart, and we didn’t know why. A friend who knew about our past abortions referred us to WNLC for marriage counseling. This literally saved our marriage. We didn’t realize how destructive our past abortions (before we met) were to our present day situation. Thank God for Woman’s New Life Center. We’ve never had counseling like this, and it’s saving our marriage.”
