When you support WNLC, you also help save women from trafficking.

Did you know victims of human trafficking are sometimes forced to be on birth control or to procure an abortion?

Human trafficking, often referred to as the modern form of slavery, is the forced sale of labor or sex. In Louisiana, the main form of trafficking is sex trafficking with the majority of victims being women. Once a woman becomes nothing more than a commodity for financial gain, pregnancy stands no chance.

Some organizations, such as Planned Parenthood, have even turned a blind eye to the warning signs that may indicate a girl or young woman is being trafficked in order to benefit from the sale of the abortion.

Human trafficking happens more often than we may realize, and the link between trafficking and abortion is horrific.

Is it any coincidence that in Louisiana, the areas with the highest incidents of sex trafficking also contain the state’s only three abortion clinics?

At Woman’s New Life Clinic, our counselors and medical staff are trained to recognize the signs that may hint that a client is a human trafficking victim. As licensed professionals, they are familiar with the red flags and are equipped with the protocol for getting a victim the help she needs to find freedom and recognize her worth.

Because of YOU, we are there for her, too.

If you suspect human trafficking, call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 888-3737-888 or text “BEFREE” to report.
