St. Clare Chapel
Since its founding, prayer has been central to the work of Woman’s New Life Clinic. Each day, the staff gather for prayer. In New Orleans, the staff gather each morning in St. Clare Chapel, Woman’s New Life Clinic’s Eucharistic Chapel.
Why St. Clare?
Woman’s New Life Clinic’s founders had this chapel dedicated to St. Clare of Assisi because of her incredible love for and confidence in the Eucharist.
As Saracens threatened her convent, St. Clare when to the convent walls with the Blessed Sacrament:
“Does it please Thee, O God, to deliver into the hands of these beasts the defenseless children whom I have nourished with Thy love? I beseech Thee, good Lord, protect these whom now I am not able to protect.” Whereupon she heard a voice like the voice of a little child saying, “I will have them always in My care.”
Founding Chaplain Fr. Joseph Doyle, SSJ, celebrating Mass in St. Clare Chapel at WNLC’s former location on Ridgelake Ave. in Metairie, directly next door to the abortion clinic. That abortion clinic closed in 2016.
The Saracens then retreated.
At Woman’s New Life Clinic, we are grateful for the opportunity to use our professional skills in service of the Lord by helping women in unplanned pregnancies. Just as St. Clare entrusted the protection of her sisters to the Lord, we entrust the women whom we serve to His loving care.
Please keep our staff and the women and babies we serve in your prayers, and be assured of our prayers for you!
