Pregnancy symptoms can often go unnoticed because they are so similar to other health conditions.
Maybe you often feel bloated around your period, or perhaps you wonder if the increased urgency you’re feeling could be a urinary tract infection.

The Top Pregnancy Symptoms
According to Mayo Clinic, these are the top symptoms:
- Missed Period
Often the first sign a woman notices, a missed period could indicate pregnancy. However, it can be more difficult to catch if you have irregular periods.
- Tender, Swollen Breasts
Hormonal changes during pregnancy can make your breasts feel tender, sore, sensitive, and even swollen. As you adjust to these changes, the discomfort will likely decrease.
- Nausea with or without Vomiting
Also known as morning sickness, many women experience nausea about one to two months after becoming pregnant. Every woman is different with how nauseous they feel and when it starts for them. Some women don’t feel nauseous at all.
- Increased Urination
Are you running to the bathroom more frequently? This is a common pregnancy symptom as the amount of blood in your body increases, and your kidneys process more fluid.
If you still feel urgency after using the bathroom, your urine smells strong, or it appears red, pink, or cloudy, it’s a good idea to be evaluated for a UTI. Urinary tract infections are also common during pregnancy and can be treated easily.
- Fatigue
Maybe you feel extra sleepy, and you have no idea why. During pregnancy, your body is going through many hormonal changes, which could cause fatigue. However, experts still aren’t certain of the exact cause of sleepiness during the first trimester.
Additional Pregnancy Symptoms
Other symptoms could include moodiness, bloating, light spotting, cramping, constipation, nasal congestion, and food aversions.
