7 Top Pregnancy Symptoms
Are you wondering if you might be pregnant? While there are common signs and symptoms, the only way to know for sure is with a pregnancy test.

Here are seven pregnancy signs and symptoms, according to the Mayo Clinic.
1. A Missed Period
You will not have a period during your pregnancy. Missing your period is often the first sign to take a pregnancy test.
Remember that a missed period does not automatically mean you are pregnant. You might be late for many reasons, such as stress or weight loss.
2. Tender, Swollen Breasts
Hormonal changes can cause your breasts to feel sensitive and sore. The discomfort usually decreases in a few weeks as your body adjusts to hormonal changes.
3. Fatigue
Feeling tired or sleepy is a classic symptom of pregnancy. Although the exact cause of fatigue during the first trimester is unknown, the rise in the hormone progesterone might be a contributing factor.
4. Nausea with or without Vomiting
Also known as morning sickness, nausea with or without vomiting often begins a month after you become pregnant. However, not every woman will experience this symptom.
5. Increased Urination
During pregnancy, your body produces more blood, causing your kidneys to process more fluid. The extra fluid ends up in your bladder, resulting in more trips to the restroom.
6. Light Spotting
You might notice spots of blood on your underwear even before your missed period. This is known as implantation bleeding, which is thought to happen as a result of the fertilized egg implanting in the lining of your uterus.
It usually happens around the time you expect to have your period, which could be confusing. However, implantation bleeding will stop on its own and not develop into a flow like a menstrual period.
7. Food Cravings and Aversions
Pickles? Yes. Coffee? Absolutely not.
You might find yourself craving foods you usually do not like or want and avoiding foods you thought you loved. This symptom is also likely due to hormonal changes.
Other Signs and Symptoms
Additional pregnancy signs and symptoms could also include heartburn, constipation, moodiness, bloating, cramping, and nasal congestion.
